Representing over 6 million people...
 

KIMO has over 128 members in 10 countries, representing over 6 million inhabitants in the United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, and the Republic of Ireland with associate members in Germany, the Faeroes Islands and the Isle Of Man.

KIMO has operational 'national networks' in four countries; the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium and Sweden. In addition, there is a newly established KIMO Baltic Sea network which will act as a 'forum' to develop marine environmental policy and coordinate new projects. KIMO also has 'non-active' member countries in Norway & The Republic of Ireland and associate members in the Isle of Man and Foroya Kommunefelag.

Our structure
 
The spine of KIMO is comprised of an Annual General Meeting of Delegates, International Board and Secretariat. The AGM rules on all major decisions pertaining to policy direction. The International Board is the management group, which along with the Secretariat, is responsible for running the organisation. In addition meetings of the National Co-ordinators focus on the practical formalities of implementing projects, initiatives and coordinating the expansion of the organisation. Each national network also has a management board and Coordinator, which report back to the International Board. 
 

Where we work
 
KIMO has members, projects or associates operating from the Shetland Isles in Scotland to Simrishamn in Denmark to Cornwall in South West England and to St Petersburg in Western Russia. Fishing for Litter operates around the United Kingdom, through Europe and the Baltic region.
