KIMO Sweden has held two member meetings at which the future structure of for KIMO in Sweden was discussed. A meeting was also held with the general manager of the Swedish Board of Fisheries to discuss fishing issues.

Background Information
The City of Göteborg and BOSAM joined KIMO in the mid 1990’s. In the spring of 2000 KIMO Sweden was established as an organisation with its own activities, a board and a national co-ordinator. KIMO Sweden has members along the coasts of Skagerrak , Kattegatt, Öresund and the Baltic Sea.
 

The main issues for KIMO Sweden have been marine litter and oil pollution, dumped chemical munitions, emissions from two-stroke outboard engines, air pollution from ships and the process towards environmentally sustainable shipping (clean ship approach etc).

Göteborgs kommun och BOSAM gick med i KIMO i mitten av 1990-talet. Under våren 2000 bildades KIMO Sverige som en organisation med egna aktiviteter, styrelse och en nationell koordinator. KIMO Sverige har medlemmar längs kusterna vid Västerhavet, Öresund och Östersjön.

De huvudsakliga frågorna för KIMO Sverige har varit marint skräp och oljeförorening, dumpade kemiska vapen, utsläpp från tvåtakts utombordsmotorer, sjöfartens luftutsläpp och utvecklingen mot en hållbar sjöfart (”clean ship approach” etc).
