In person of course!
On 11 November 2017, the Dutch national conference on innovations in the fishing and shellfish industry was held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. During this event, Mike Mannaart, Coordinator of KIMO the Netherlands and Belgium presented the network’s annual report as well as information on the Fishing for Litter project and the two marine Green Deals coordinated by KIMO to Mrs. Carola Schouten, the Dutch Minister of Fisheries Affairs. A lot of hard work is put in by the various organisations and people that participate in the Fishing for Litter project, none more so than the fishermen who voluntarily help clean our seas. Making their efforts visible at this high level helps to ensure that all involved gain the credit and recognition they deserve, much to KIMO’s delight. Further information was on display in our information booth and KIMO Netherlands and Belgium’s deputy secretary, Jan Joris Midavaine, was on hand to answer all questions about KIMO’s current work. The atmosphere was one of great interest and conviviality and Mike and Jan’s efforts were well received. Well done and keep the KIMO flag flying high in the Netherlands and Belgium!
